Chat and Page Context
Overview
This page explains how Ghast AI incorporates the current page into chat responses and how to use that capability in the most natural, stable way.
How to use it
Ghast AI's chat capability is not meant to run independently of the page you are on. On supported sites, the extension can treat the page you are viewing as additional context.
For most users, the simplest workflow is: open the target page first, then ask your question directly in the sidebar.
Standard flow
If you want the page to actively participate in the chat, use this order:
- Open the page you want to discuss.
- Open the Ghast AI sidebar.
- Ask a specific question about the current page.
Asking something like, "Summarize the key points on this page" or "What risks should I watch for here?" yields stronger contextual responses than vague prompts such as "Take a look at this."
When it works best
When the page falls within the supported range, the chat interface understands:
- What you are currently looking at.
- What kind of content the page represents.
- Which sections you are more likely to ask about.
That is why, on certain pages, Ghast AI's answers feel more tightly aligned with the current scenario.
When the page is unsupported
Even if the current page is unsupported, you can still chat normally. The difference is that the page will not be provided as context, so some variance between pages is expected.
When to turn it down
If you prefer to treat Ghast AI as a pure chat assistant or do not want the page influencing the current session, you can turn off or dial back the page context controls. Think of page context as an optional enhancement, not a default that applies everywhere without control.
Ghast AI's chat page currently combines the current page on supported sites. The most natural usage for most users is to open the target page, then ask specific questions in the sidebar. When a page is unsupported, chat still works but without the same page-specific context.
